Understanding when clients pay is crucial for closing deals and setting expectations.
Payment Schedule
| Item Type | At Signing | At Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Website Setup Fees | 50% | 50% |
| One-Time Builds | 50% | 50% |
| Branding Services | 50% | 50% |

When Monthly Billing Starts
- Marketing & SEO (Social, Ads, SEO): Starts immediately upon signing. First month is prorated based on signing date.
- Website Monthly (WaaS): Starts when website is delivered. First month is prorated.
- Hosting & E-commerce: Starts when website is delivered. First month is prorated.
Billing Cycle Sync
All services sync to the 1st of the month. Example:
- Client signs October 10 for Growth WaaS + SEO
- At signing: 50% of setup ($348.50) + prorated SEO for Oct 10-31 (~$337)
- November 1: Full SEO payment ($497) - first full billing cycle
- Website delivers November 15: 50% balance ($348.50) + prorated WaaS for Nov 15-30 (~$126)
- December 1 and ongoing: All services synced ($252.50 + $497 = $749.50/mo)
Contract term starts from the first full billing cycle after website delivery.
The Sales Conversation
Step 1: Discovery (5 minutes)
Open with:
"Hey [Name], thanks for taking the time. Before I dive into anything, I'd love to learn a bit about your business. What do you do?"
Key questions to ask:
- "Do you currently have a website?"
- "How are you getting customers right now?"
- "What's your biggest challenge with your online presence?"
- "Have you worked with a web company before? How did that go?"
- "If we could wave a magic wand, what would your ideal website do for you?"
Listen for pain points:
- "My website is old/outdated" → Rebuild with WaaS
- "I don't have a website" → Starter or Growth
- "I'm not getting leads" → Website + SEO
- "I spend too much time answering the same questions" → Good news - AI chatbot is included!
- "I'm on social media but not consistent" → Social Media add-on
- "I want to sell online" → E-commerce add-on
Step 2: Present the Solution (5 minutes)
Match their pain to our product:
"Based on what you've told me, here's what I'd recommend..."
For someone with no website:
"The Starter package is perfect for you. For $497 to get started and $212.50/month on a 24-month contract, you get a professional 5-page website, we handle all the tech, updates, security, everything. You focus on running your business."
For someone wanting leads:
"I'd recommend Growth with our Organic SEO package. The website is $697 setup, $252.50/month, plus $497/month for SEO. We build you a site designed to convert, then optimize it to rank on Google. Most clients see improvement within 3-6 months."
For someone wanting full digital presence:
"For a business like yours, the Domination package with SEO makes the most sense. You get unlimited pages, 24/7 support, and every website includes an AI chatbot that answers questions for your customers automatically. Add our SEO package and we handle your Google rankings too. Total is about $997 setup plus around $796/month - you're getting a full digital team for less than one employee."
Step 3: Handle Objections
"It's too expensive"
"I totally get it. Let me ask you this - how much is a new customer worth to you? If this website brings you even one new customer a month, does it pay for itself?"
"We also have a Landing Page option at $49.99/month if budget is tight. It's a single page, but it's professional and gets you online."
"I need to think about it"
"Absolutely, take your time. What specifically do you need to think through? Maybe I can help clarify."
"Is it the price, the timing, or something about what's included?"
"I can build it myself with Wix/Squarespace"
"You definitely can. The question is - do you want to spend your weekends fighting with a website builder, or do you want to focus on your actual business? We handle everything so you don't have to think about it."
"My nephew/friend can do it cheaper"
"That's great if they can! Here's what I'd ask them: Will they be available at 2am if the site goes down? Will they handle security updates? Will they still be around in 2 years? We're a business - this is all we do, and we're not going anywhere."
"I had a bad experience with a web company before"
"I hear that a lot, honestly. That's exactly why we do month-to-month after the initial contract. If we're not delivering, you can leave. We have to earn your business every month."
"What's the difference between WaaS and One-Time Build?"
"Great question. With WaaS, we build it AND manage it forever - updates, security, hosting, support, everything. With One-Time, we build it, hand it over, and you manage it yourself or pay us hourly if you need help. Most small businesses prefer WaaS because they don't want to deal with the tech."
Step 4: Close
Trial close:
"Does this sound like what you're looking for?"
Assumptive close:
"Great, let's get you set up. I just need a few details to get started..."
Urgency (use sparingly):
"If we get the paperwork done this week, we can have your site live in about 2-3 weeks. Want to lock that in?"
If they need time:
"No problem. I'll send you a summary of what we discussed. When's a good time to follow up - Thursday or Friday?"

The 10-Deal Unlock: Building Your Team
After you close 10 deals, you unlock the ability to recruit your own sales reps.
Why this matters:
- Level 1: You earn 5% on your direct recruit's monthly sales
- Level 2: You earn 3% on their recruit's monthly sales
- Level 3: You earn 2% on the third level down
Example:
You recruit Sarah. Sarah sells a Growth package ($252.50/month).
- Sarah earns: $50.50/month (her 20%)
- You earn: $12.63/month (your 5% override)
- That's passive income from her work
The math gets real:
- 5 reps each selling $1,000/month in recurring = $50/month to you (5%)
- Their 5 reps each selling $1,000/month = $30/month to you (3%)
- That's $80/month you didn't have to close yourself
Focus first on your 10 deals. Then think about recruiting.
